How we write our guides
Health information deserves care. This page explains how the guides on Home BP Log are made and where their limits are.
Who writes them
Home BP Log is an independent project. It is not a medical practice, and its guides are not written as medical advice. They explain how to measure and log home blood pressure, based on published guidance.
What they are based on
- Published clinical guidance and peer-reviewed papers on home blood pressure measurement, listed in a Sources section on each guide.
- Plain descriptions of how this site's calculator works, which you can check on the how it works page.
- We cite a source for the measuring advice that relies on one. Where the research is mixed, we say so.
What they do not cover
- No diagnosis, and no statement of whether your numbers are normal or concerning.
- No advice about treatment, medicines, or changing what your clinician told you to do.
- Your clinician is the right person for any question about what your readings mean.
Review dates and corrections
Each guide shows when it was last reviewed. If you spot an error or a better source, please tell us and we will check it and fix it.
How the site is funded
Home BP Log is free. Public information pages may show advertising. Ads do not influence what the guides say, and there are no ads on the calculator, results, or account pages.
